New Developer Build (7712) for Windows Phone 7 mango available

A new build for the Windows Phone 7 Mango platform (ISV beta 7712) is now awailable.  The update should be pushed down to developer phones that signed up to the Mango beta preview from earlier this month.  This update should map to the RTM build of Windows Phone 7 which went live according to sources yesterday.

Earlier this month, developers who had signed up for the Windows Phone 7 developer program were given the oppornity to preview Mango and test thier applications against the platform.  It was a good initial preview but lacked many of the messaging and communication features touted in much of the demo videos by Microsoft.  Twitter integration for instance was not included.

The new build includes such things as a square windows logo on the phone startup screen that maps to the color of the user's "accent color".  Twitter and Linked in are also included and can be accessed from the Add Account settings page.  Some nifty animations have also been added to the background task switching UI.

Given that Microsoft will start allowing apps to be published some time next month (August 2011), I am sure that a final version of the SDK for development is on its way as well.  Perhaps we will see this by the end of this week.  Finger crossed.
